The “Sauce Sachet” example demonstrates that a practical Eco Design approach can not only reduce the weight of the sachet but also implement Waste-saving opening mechanism.
The tear-off seals of most sauce sachets are often carelessly thrown away unseparated. This should be at the focus of any new packaging concept. The Eco Design concept therefore calls for a tear notch that remains on the sachet. Resources are to be saved by reducing the weight of the package. These measures thus allow the negative environmental impacts of this type of package to be reduced.
