The Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive defines essential requirements for packaging to be considered recoverable. EN 13430:2004 amplifies these requirements with respect to material Recycling. It provides a framework which may be used (together with four other standards: our other standards (EN 13429, EN 13430, EN 13431, and EN 13432) to support a claim that packaging is in compliance with the essential requirements for it to be placed on the market as required by the Directive.
