Raw material which is obtained by extraction from nature and has the potential to renew itself in certain periods. This covers biogenic raw materials, but also air and (non-fossil) water. The relevant period for which a raw material is not longer considered renewable is not universally defined. The boundary between “renewable” and “non-renewable” is usually between 100 and 1000 years.
