Raw material which is obtained by extraction from nature and does not have the potential to renew itself in certain periods. This includes mineral and fossil resources. The relevant period for which a raw material is not longer considered renewable is not universally defined. The boundary between “renewable” and “non-renewable” is usually between 100 and 1000 years.
